Alannah Rose Wedding ~ Sharmini & Lee {le boutique wedding invitation}

alannah rose weddings, weddings

I’m so excited today to share a beautiful wedding of some of our clients today! Sharmini and Lee chose our Le Boutique wedding stationery suite in black and white for their Perth wedding day. The bold black and white fit right into their colour scheme “Our theme was Old Hollywood Glamour. The colour scheme was predominately black and white, with touches of different shades of purple.“

Natasja from NK Photography was able to capture simply beautiful images of the wedding “Tasj photographed my brother’s wedding and did such a beautiful job we knew we just had to have her for our day. She is also so lovely and completely relaxing to be around.”

Sharmini walked down the aisle to a the sounds of String Quartet. “Seeing each other for the first time as I walked down the aisle. The string quartet were playing ‘Fields of Gold’, it was such an overwhelming moment, an emotional  culmination of joy and excitement.  Fortunately, we had 5 verses (!) of amazing grace in which to compose ourselves and settle the nerves and excitement before either one of us had to say anything.”

Below: The flowers at Christ Church Claremont where Sharmini and Lee married were stunning shades of white “All white.  We wanted it to look fresh, simple and elegant. Included 16 orchid garlands for the pews and the front door. Roses, lilies orchids and candles on the front table as guests arrived at the church.” All flowers were by Natural Art Flowers by Rebecca Grace.

Above: Sharminio’s bridesmaids wore elegant french navy gowns, one shouldered in silk georgette from Sana Boutique Claremont. “The colour looked amazing on all three girls and the style suited them perfectly. I wanted something soft and feminine but still striking. The French navy worked perfectly.” says Sharmini

I have much more of this sweet wedding for you later today so check back soon! x

Alannah Rose Wedding ~ Sharmini & Lee {le boutique wedding invitation} Part Two

alannah rose weddings, weddings

As promised! More beautiful photos from Sharmini and Lee’s wedding! Such a beautiful reception too, I know you’ll adore these images! I can’t resist sharing their sweet proposal story with you today either!

“At home on our balcony. Thursday evening has always been our favourite night of the week and we often head out for dinner and drinks. Lee had made a late booking at our favourite restaurant and suggested we open a bottle of champagne at home first. We were due to fly back to Perth the next day for the Christmas break so I thought we were just starting the Christmas celebrations early. We took the bottle of champagne out on the balcony and Lee got down on one knee and surprised me with a gorgeous proposal and beautiful ring!”

Below: Sharmini and Lee held their reception in a marquee on the grounds of the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club who also catered the wedding. “Being a summer marquee wedding, I wanted everything to be light and fresh.. The swagging from the roof of the marquee and the low hanging chandelier over the bridal table created such a wonderful, intimate atmosphere. I really wanted it to feel like we were having an intimate dinner with our closet friends and family. Rebecca Grace did an amazing job on the flowers and used orchids, hydrangeas and roses all in a whites and shades of purple with some pinks thrown in. The room was so monochrome with the white swagging on the roof and the walls of the marquee and the white tiffany chairs that the little touches of colour really stood out.

We also had a gorgeous mirrored bar put it next to the dance floor which really set the room off and created lots of light. It was also great place for guests to mingle next to the dance floor.” Sharmini says

Above: Sharmini and Lee used Natural Art by Rebecca Grace to style the reception, which featured Alannah Rose Le Boutique Suite seating chart, menu cards, table numbers and candy buffet signs. The tables featured “Crystal vases on mirror on half the tables and Lantern & Mint Julips on the other half with orchids, hydrangeas and roses all in a whites and shades of purple with some pinks thrown in. . Once again with the room being so monochrome, we really wanted them to add small, bright bursts of colour which we achieved with the striking purples and pinks Bec mixed together.” says Sharmini

Thank you Sharmini and Lee for sharing your stunning wedding with us! x We are so thrilled that we were able to be part of your wedding day xx

A {sweet} Place For Treats

parties, sunday finds

How fun are these polka dot candy jars I found on Amazon? Perfect for a pastel inspired party or perhaps on your own kitchen counter? The cake style pedestals make them much more fun than regular candy jars.

NSS New York Roundup {Paper Runway}

the rest

Well here I am back from New York! We had an amazing time, New York is a truly fabulous place and I can’t wait to go back.  I’ve got a lot of things to share about the trip, but first up a few things that caught my eye at the National Stationery Show.

One of the features of the show was Paper Runway. In partnership with Kate’s Paperie, the fashion exhibit was created to show the relationship between paper and fashion by showcasing paper dresses from cutting-edge fashion designers, among them Lela Rose, Susan Woo, Yeohlee, Jen Kao, Donald Deal.

The display also held a competition for visual merchandising and design students at New York City’s LIM College. Students’ were asked to incorporate products from NSS exhibitors to compete for a cash prize and will be featured in the windows of Kate’s Paperie during Fashion Week.

They did an incredible job – the detailing and craftsmanship was amazing. I especially love the colour palettes used and the the mixing of patterns that work together. Gorgeous!

Alannah Rose Party – Wrap Me In Rainbows {The Party}

alannah rose new designs, alannah rose parties, life, parties

Well here we are back from a lovely weekend and a fantastic and fun rainbow party!

Alannah had an amazing time, she was so happy the entire day, and I  thought I’d share the pics with you.

Keeping with our our rainbow theme and inspired by the book ‘You, Me and the Rainbow’ I introduced a heart element into the invitation design as well as some of the design elements in keeping with the rainbow ritual in the book ‘sending a rainbow from my heart to yours’.

We were both really excited about this theme, it was so much fun to work on.

Above: Our new ‘wrap me in rainbows’ party invitations created especially for this party; Miss Alannah loving every bit of her 6th Birthday; ‘wrap me in rainbows’ party hats

Above: Rainbow party hats – Alannah loves party hats, so these were a special request from her, now available as a printable party file;

Favours – guests were given ‘Cookie Love’ take home rainbow gingerbread hearts; The kids party table – one of my favourite things and a fabulous find that I used for this party were the garlands – you can’t see much of them in the pics, but I strung them all over the roof, mainly in white, with some bulk colour for the rainbows. These were not actually garlands, but strings of wool! Yes wool, it’s called snowball and you can purchase it in 25 metre lengths in a multitude of colours from Lincraft or Spotlight for around $3.50. A bargain!

Above: The Sweets and Candy Table – The hanging cloud with rainbow hearts was purchased from etsy seller The Rainbow Room, Clara very kindly adjusted the design to have hearts rather than rain drops for me; The Cake – I first saw the rainbow cake over at my lovely friends Hip Hooray, for instructions to make head on over to Whisk Kid. For our version I wanted Alannah to be involved – she finger knitted the wool decoration to wrap around the cake, and chose the unicorn on top out of selection of few cake toppers I found on etsy – this one came from the very talented Bunny with a Toolbelt. The number six was purchased from spotlight and I glued some printable paper with spray adhesive to the front so it would tie in with the other stationery pieces.

Above: The food – as we were having an afternoon party I didn’t want to make too many different dishes for the dessert bar, so we went with cupcakes – topped with the rounded tip of a candy cane, rainbow bark – white chocolate with crushed candy cane on top, heart shaped fairy bread – always a favourite, and rainbow striped gingerbread hearts – these took a fair bit of time to make, but I’m super pleased with the outcome even if I do say so myself! An assortment of coloured lollies were also added included smarties, jelly beans and twizzlers – rainbow coloured licorice!

Above: More sweet treats; Drink bottles – were dressed up with printable drink labels in our wrap me in rainbows theme

Above: The rainbow cake – it worked! It really is simple to make, and very effective – the papparazzi were in force!; Sweet Treats – I printed up little treat bags and filled with candy for guests to take home

Above: More Gifts – I couldn’t resist making up these  little personalised pocket mirrors to match the invitations. The poem on the hessian bag was ironed on with t-shirt transfer.

Entertainment – I wanted to sit back and enjoy the party this time around so I organised for Stephanie from Fairy Flutterby to entertain the guests. Stephanie is a fantastic entertainer and talented face painter. She kept the girls laughing with a magic show, dancing, games, facepainting and balloon sculpting – what more could you ask for! I highly recommend her.

More Details:

Stationery – All of the stationery items used in this party are now available for purchase through Alannah Rose as printable party files, you can view our ‘wrap me in rainbows’ printable party invitations and matching items here. So if you’re wanting to replicate this look, you can simply purchase the files and print off the paper pieces at home.

Twizzlers – from Sugar Station

Ribbon Cake stands from Tracey Lau

Rainbow Candy Cane – Big W

Cake Supplies – Wests

Rainbow Twine – The Twinery

Finally – A very special thank you to my mum, my husband, my two gorgeous girls that make me smile every day, my lovely friend Kerrin, and the mums that helped me on the day.

And finally to Amy Atlas who featured our little party on her blog today with the sweetest words – I’m so flattered! – I’m ever inspired by Amy’s work, and thrilled that she has featured one of our party’s again.
